CBRE Cambodia Associate Director James Hodge was among the guests at a ground-breaking ceremony for The Point development.
Phnom Penh's first green mixed-use development is underway, following a ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday.
Set for completion in Q4 2019, The Point will consist of a 2,200 square metre community mall and a 9,200 sqm office building.
Environment Minister H.E Say Samal joined The Point Chairman Po Sothearak in marking the official start of construction on Mao Tse Toung Boulevard.
The project is being designed by award winning Cambodian Architects Re-Edge, whose aim was to blend nature with the function of a modern urban environment.
Not only will energy-saving techniques be factored into the building process, but large trees have been included in the project to provide shading to the courtyard seating and eating areas.
CBRE Cambodia is set to work closely with those involved in the development, after being appointed as the sole leasing agent.
Associate Director James Hodge said it was an important project for his team.
"CBRE Cambodia is very pleased to have been instructed by The Point to provide world-class property management services, using their significant experience for the benefit of future tenants and shoppers," he said.
“The Point is the first project of its kind in Phnom Penh, combining mixed uses including green open spaces, high quality office space, lots of car parking and the much sought after retail offerings which will serve the local community.
"CBRE is very much looking forward to working with the team and expect the project to lease up very quickly.”
