Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) recognized Ts. Alan Poon as a Professional Technologist in Information & Computing Technology.
Alan Poon has received the Professional Technologist recognition by Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) effective 9 December 2022. Ts. Alan Poon is Associate Director for Industrial Technology Division of Laurelcap Group, an established real estate consultancy firm. He was in charge to drive the organization’s digital transformation and adoption of latest technological trends in the real estate industry.
Ts. Alan Poon said it was timely that tech-driven stakeholders in the property industry are being recognized by the professional body for technologist. "I am honoured to receive this recognition by Malaysia Board of Technologist, given that Information & Computing Technology (IT) have always been the driver in the PropTech industry, revolutionizing the real estate landscape that we see today globally” he said.
Ts. Alan has in excess of 15 years of experience providing transformative marketing strategies and innovative training solutions in projects advisory. His author feat on 3 Tenant Management books went into the Malaysia Book of Records. Aside from being a regular speaker at major real estate events, contributor to insights on publications and accredited trainer in CPD approved real estate course, Ts. Alan was appointed as one of the esteemed Judges for 2022 CREATE@Alibaba Cloud Global Startup Contest (Malaysia), Alibaba Group Largest entrepreneurship contest in the world, dubbed "Olympics" of Technology Venture Capital in under 100 cities worldwide.
Ts. Alan Poon holds a first-class Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.Mech.) from University of Malaya, a Professional Certificate in Data Science & Analytics from Veritas University College, Malaysia and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) with honours from Quantic School of Business & Technology, USA. Ts. Alan is a certified Alibaba Cloud Professional (ACP) in Cloud Computing and a Corporate Member of Technological Association of Malaysia (MTAM).
MBOT is a professional body which register and recognize technologist related to technology-based profession that cuts across discipline and technology fields based on Act 768 in Malaysia. Since its inception in 2015, MBOT has a combined membership of 65,000 and growing graduates of skills and technology from 24 technology fields. MBOT is a provisional signatory of the Seoul Accord, a co- accreditation agreement involving 13 signatory countries for programmes in the field of computing and information.
